Keynote Speaker

Beata Mirecka-Jakubowska
M.A. Applied Linguistics and TESOL, Founder & CEO of Intercultural Education Consulting
Topic: Reimagining Learning: Practical AI and Metacognitive Tools
As we move into the 5th Industrial Revolution, the future of learning will depend less on how smart our technology becomes, and more on how aware and reflective we are as humans. While artificial intelligence is changing how we find and use knowledge, it’s our ability to think about our own thinking, called metacognition, that will decide whether this change truly helps learners grow.

This keynote looks at the meeting point between AI and metacognitive learning from a teacher’s point of view. Instead of focusing on theory, it offers practical ways for educators to build reflection, self-regulation, and responsible AI use into everyday lessons, across different subjects, without increasing their workload. Listeners will discover how AI can act as a thinking partner rather than a shortcut, helping students become more aware, adaptable, and independent learners.

Grounded in classroom experience and supported by current research, Beata Mirecka-Jakubowska, a seasoned educator at international schools, shows how teachers can weave metacognitive strategies into their teaching to help students “learn how to learn” in a world that’s always changing. In a nutshell, nurture the kind of learning that allows students to grow with AI, not compete against it.
