Prof. Aisha Isa

Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, ADUSTECH, Wudil, Kano State, Nigeria.

Topic: Redressing Poverty in Global Community through Implementation of Pragmatic Curriculum

Born in 1977, attended FCT Primary School Wuse, Abuja (1982–1988); Government Secondary Schools, Wuse and Karu, Abuja, earning JSSCE and O’Level certificates (1989–1994).Earned a Diploma in Educational Management (Credit) at Bayero University Kano BUK (1995–1997); Certificate in Adult Education and Community Development with Distinction, Social Development Training Centre, Katsina (1998); BA.Ed (Adult Education), Upper Second Class, BUK (1988–2002). Served NYSC as Amira, MCAN Kaduna (2002–2003). Completed M.Ed in Curriculum Studies, BUK (2004–2008), and PhD in Curriculum and Instruction, International Islamic University Malaysia (2016–2018). Actively participates in academic and administrative roles onsite and remotely.

Achievements

The Best Presenter Award by ADIC, IIUM Malaysia, 2017; Gold Medal Award by Salka Media, Kano State, 2020;  Licenced and  registered teacher with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria TRCN; member at National and Chairman at Kano State Chapter for both Curriculum Organisation of Nigeria (CON); and World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI); which she’s also its member at international chapter San Diego, USA; Life time member Teaching Education Research Association (TERA) and a Fellow Institute of Management Consultant (FIMC); The founder Academic Associate of Drug and Peace Education Club (AADPEC), ADUSTECH Wudil; among other NGO’s.

Roles and Responsibilities

Began teaching career with former Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST) Wudil now Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH) Wudil as an Assistant lecturer in 2012, and promoted to lecturer II in 2014, then got accelerated promotion to Senior Lecturer in 2019; then promoted to Reader in 2022 and currently elevated to the rank of full professor of Education specialising in Curriculum and Instruction in 2025. Responsibilities includes, Level co-ordinator/level advicer at the defunct Science Education Department with six programmes namely, Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics and Physics Science Education respectively and from level 100 upto 400. Head, Library and Information Science Department, Head, Technical and Vocational Education Department; Head, Educational Foundations Department; Sub-Dean School of Postgraduate Studies and Deputy Dean, (Female Matters) Student Affairs Division. Senate member and member of various committees in the university.
