Clothing for centuries has been a need for us and is now part of everyday life either in the form of fashion, seasonal wear, trends, etc. Since the past few decades, the clothing and textile industry has been the second most environmental polluter in the world. Current practices when it comes to the inclusion of sustainability into the curriculum is minimal. It is vital to create course content and let the students know more about sustainability and its possible implications by including it in the curriculum. This paper highlights the inclusion of sustainability within the Advanced Diploma qualification of the clothing and textile curriculum. The paper reflects the need for curriculum development by assimilating sustainable elements in the above-mentioned qualification, so that upcoming professionals can embody sustainability in order to create an environmentally friendly and sustainable society to live in.
